HubSpot's annual conference has a new name and a sharper message. At UNBOUND 2026 in Boston (September 16–18), HubSpot declared the start of the Outcomes Era: AI should be judged by the business results it drives, not by how much it produces. The headline announcements were a self-updating CRM, a new context layer called Growth Context, and a completely rebuilt Breeze Assistant. Underneath all of it was one idea: AI is only as good as the data and context you give it. |
As a HubSpot Partner agency, we sorted through the keynotes and product news to pull out what actually matters for growing companies, and what we'd do about it.
Vested's take: The biggest takeaway for us wasn't a single feature. It was HubSpot saying out loud what we tell clients every week: AI is only as good as the data behind it.
"AI with bad context is worse than no AI at all." That line from HubSpot CEO Yamini Rangan set the tone for the whole event.
The kickoff drew a clear line between high-value and low-value uses of AI. The low-value uses are the ones most teams started with. The high-value uses are where the real return is.
|
Examples |
Why it matters |
|
|---|---|---|
|
High-value AI |
Analyzing campaign performance, mining customer reviews and feedback, spotting patterns across your data |
Turns information you already have into decisions |
|
Low-value AI |
Generating content, meeting prep, sending emails |
Saves time, but rarely changes outcomes on its own |
HubSpot backed this up with its own research: in a survey of 6,000 companies, 90% use AI, but only 6% report transformational results (source).
You don't need a new tool to start. Each of these uses data most HubSpot portals already have.
We measure AI by the decisions it drives.
Picking the right use cases is only one part of it. HubSpot framed the Outcomes Era as three things that have to work together.
The framework is simple on paper. Here's how to turn each piece into a concrete next step.
Foundation first, every time.
Our take: Almost every portal audit we run turns up the same things: duplicate contacts, lifecycle stages nobody agrees on, and properties no one has touched in years. Agents built on that will just make mistakes faster.
HubSpot's new self-updating CRM automatically captures every call, email, and meeting, then proposes updates to your records. Reps stop doing data entry, and the CRM stays current on its own.
There are guardrails: AI-suggested changes need approval before they touch a record, and manual edits always override automation (source).
It sits inside a bigger idea HubSpot calls Growth Context, a layer around the CRM that holds three kinds of context:
Context Home scores how complete that context is and flags the gaps. It's available on every tier.
The biggest win is time back for your team, but better data quality is close behind. Here's where it shows up first.
Clean data in, useful context out.
The all-new Breeze Assistant isn't an upgrade; it's a rebuild. You give it an outcome, and it routes the work to the right specialized agents across marketing, sales, and service. One tool to manage them all.
The shift is from asking AI to do tasks to asking it for outcomes. These are good places to start.
Start small, watch the cost, then scale.
AI workflows we already run. AI visibility audits, monthly client strategies, and recurring client reports.
Chatflows that convert. HubSpot chatflows that qualify website visitors and book meetings automatically.
Credits vs. time saved. We estimate each agent's credit usage before it goes live, so cost never surprises a client.
The marketing side of HubSpot got just as much attention, especially around how buyers find you in AI search.
ChatGPT Ads now run inside HubSpot. HubSpot says it's the first CRM to integrate ChatGPT Ads, with campaign creation, budgets, and attribution back to contacts and deals. New accounts opened before September 30, 2026 could get up to $750 in ChatGPT Ads credit (source).
AEO went mainstream. Answer engine optimization (AEO), getting your brand cited in AI answers, showed up everywhere. HubSpot's AEO Grader was on the event floor, a new Content Agent writes AEO-optimized content, and an AEO Public API is now in public beta.
Marketing Studio got rebuilt. Marketing Studio 2.0 brings campaign planning, content, multichannel launch, and attribution together. It adds a Campaign Agent that builds full campaigns from a brief and a Nurture Agent that tailors emails at send time.
Buyers are already researching in AI tools, so visibility there matters as much as ranking in Google. Here's how to act on these updates.
We practice AEO on our own site first.
Our take: AI-written content is about to flood every channel. The brands that get cited will be the ones with real expertise, clear structure, and a point of view.
The tools are here. The companies that win with them will be the ones that get their foundation right first.
Vested's take: AI won't fix a broken foundation. But on a solid one, it can do things that weren't possible a year ago. That's the work we're excited about

UNBOUND is HubSpot's annual conference, formerly called INBOUND. The first UNBOUND took place September 16–18, 2026, in Boston.
It automatically captures calls, emails, and meetings and proposes record updates for your approval, so the CRM stays current without manual data entry.
A context layer around the CRM that combines business, team, and customer context so AI agents produce more relevant results.
Breeze Assistant is available on every HubSpot plan, including Free. Agent usage beyond that runs on HubSpot credits.
Yes. HubSpot now integrates ChatGPT Ads, including campaign setup, budgets, and attribution to contacts and deals.
